COBWEBBED PORCELAIN

by Robert K. Mueller

Freeze seeps three inches into glacial soil.. Crystals burst like young yeast. Dandruff falls from the sky— tracing the path back. The poles converge. Birds withdraw. Snow condenses to drops— to silicon seeds. Cryonic sleep. Peroxide spreads. White doves. White storks. White swans. Titanium Oxide, Sodium carbonate, Potassium chloride— gossamer frostwork. Exhausted photons. Glass stalactites Stone lightning. Nature— a reprint that fades faster than the original, vanishing in cobwebbed porcelain.
